• Artist Statement

  As a visual artist, I am most drawn to portraiture. In this painting I captured my subject’s mood by emphasizing her large, soulful eyes. I used soft, muted colors which brings out her pensiveness and allows the viewer to sense her vulnerability. I hope to draw viewers in as they feel a connection to my subject and contemplate their own thoughts and feelings while viewing “Sophia”.
