In this performance, I present "Se tu m'ami," a baroque-era aria often attributed to Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. This Italian song, whose title translates to "If you love me," is renowned for its expressive depth and charming melody. Composed in the 18th century, "Se tu m'ami" is a staple in the classical vocal repertoire, known for its exploration of love and playful romantic expressions. My preparation for this performance has been an immersive artistic process. Initially, I learned this song 3 years ago as part of a remote-learning musical assignment. But for this rendition, I delved deeper into the historical context of the piece, understanding its importance in the realm of classical vocal music. The ornate style of the song guided my interpretation and vocal technique. I focused on not only perfecting the technical aspects of my performance, but also embodying the emotions at the core of the song. I also spent several hours interpeting the lyrics, ensuring that each phrase I sang was authentic. My aim was to connect with the audience not just through the melody, but also through the story and sentiment conveyed by the aria. This performance is not only a showcase of my vocal skills; it is a reflection of my artistic journey and dedication. Please join me in experiencing this timeless piece which showcases the elegance and emotional richness of baroque vocal music.

Creativity, for me, is a harmonious blend of imagination and discipline. It's about interpreting classical melodies in new, emotionally resonant ways, and pushing the boundaries of vocal expression. It’s the art of crafting a unique narrative through music, transforming each performance into an intimate, deeply personal experience.
