During a visit to the Manhattan Bridge, I was drawn to the juxtaposition of the metal bridge against the backdrop of red brick buildings that accentuated its complex architecture. I used materials that might seem ordinary and rigid, paper and glue, representing how this bridge can be overlooked by nearby residents. Additionally, I experimented with unconventional materials such as cellophane that replaced its suspension cables. I painted the sky on top of holographic paper, so it would appear as if the clouds were peering into the scene. I wanted to recreate the breath-taking feeling I felt when I saw it in-person for the first time.

Creativity is taking risks, using artistic liberty to experiment, trying new methods, even when I do not have a plan. I only need a vision or a feeling to begin. It means to allow the process to flow and take its course, using my intuition to make it my own.
