Oranges Etc.

Eric S.

Copics, Color Pencil, Gel Pen

  • Using copics, color pencils, and a white gel pen, I explored the similarities between clocks, gears, and oranges since all are circular, radial, sector based objects. I employed similar shapes to create a cohesive composition and used impossible triangles to create a more surreal feel. Through this piece, I wanted to convey the idea that despite being very different in many aspects, communities and individuals also have much in common. Together, they can work in harmony and create a cohesive art piece.

  • Creativity lies within the process of making something new, not just the final result. Experimentation with mediums and ideas are key to creativity, and often, the inspiration behind novel ideas of fascinating revelations in art happen when one is in the process of completing a piece, not after its done.
