Dragon Teapot

Morgan Z.

Stoneware clay, glazes

  • This piece was created as an assignment for my Cermaics 300 class last year. It took the better part of the second semester to complete, from the sketching phase in January to the final product being completed in late May. I built the body of the dragon using coils then added the details, such as the dragon’s head, wings, and scales. I use scraffito technique to carve the abstract pattern along the body. I glazed the piece using three Amaco semi-transpoarent, with three layers each.

  • My creativity is very important to me, it allows me to think and process my ideas in a different way and I appreciate the relaxing qualities visual arts have for me.
