This artwork expresses the idea of seeing the world in a different light by removing the dull colors and focusing on the vibrant side. As an artist, color and texture means a lot to me. I always enjoy experimenting with color placement and texture techniques in my artwork. With this particular painting, I went all out with color and even used some oil painting techniques. I wanted to challenge myself and push my artistic abilities to their limits and I think using a large canvas helped me achieve this. I used contrasts in texture by making the face smooth, the background partially smooth, and the hair textured with swipes of paint using a palette knife. I used a palette knife to scratch into the artwork, revealing the red undercoat I painted, and even used my handprints. This painting is everything I love and enjoy putting into a single piece of colorful chaos.

Creativity to me is the idea of pushing what you can do and think. For example, you can create a creative solution to clean your room by using a new organizing method. In art, you can push your style to be different, and your color choices to be odd.
