Armada

Luke S.

  • Initially inspired by Hans Zimmer's score to 'Dune', Armada started as a one minute piano audio clip that I recorded in a practice room at school after the idea for the piece struck me. I notated what I had played as soon as I arrived home that day, spending the following few months building upon the initial motifs. Armada, in its working state, was a catalyst for me to pour all of my past and newly gained compositional knowledge and skills into, becoming a culmination of several unique ideas I came up with during the piece's conception.

  • To me, creativity is not the ability to create, but the drive to create. Every single person has creativity, using something as a catalyst to express themselves in their own way. For me, that's composition, but anything can be creatively fulfilling for someone.
