Academic Pressure

  • "Academic Pressure" is a captivating work of art that sheds light on the unseen challenges faced by students. I chose myself, the focus of the piece, clutching my head in my hands with my face in a silent scream. This image highlights the intense pressure that students feel from school, society, and parents to perform well academically. To illustrate school, society, and parents, I painted a screaming man and the pointing finger to convey how academics pressure students. The background of the piece features a blurred bookcase, which represents the overwhelming workload and endless deadlines that students face. The colors used in the piece are intentionally dark to reflect the burden that teenagers feel. I used raw emotionality and powerful imagery to leave a lasting impression, prompting viewers to reflect on the pressures of academic life faced by teenagers and the need for understanding and support.

  • For me, creativity is expressing oneself through art, that could be visual or performing art such as music or dance. It can be a way to communicate thoughts and feelings, or to make something beautiful. Creativity can also be a way to connect with others through sharing experiences and identity.
