• Artist Statement

  I took the reference photo for this painting on a backpacking trip to Angel Island State Park with my parents, brother, and my brother's friends. After a stressful few months, the trip was a refreshing way to unwind. I later painted this piece during a summer art class, which brought me needed relaxation after days of struggle with a different medium.

• Creative Statement

  Being express myself in a curated way. Sometimes I think art makes it easier to explain how I feel to others, and it's also easier to help people empathize with how I feel.
