Pencil Drawing

• Artist Statement

  It took around two weeks to complete this drawing. In these two weeks I experimented with different types of pencils and how to use them to create the desired look. Throughout the drawing process, I not only improved my drawing ability, but was able to learn new ways of shading and tricks for realism. I began by drawing a grid on my page to copy the photo I took with as much precision as possible, then continued to work on each grid square one at a time.

• Creative Statement

  To me creativity means expressing oneself in a unique and personal way that displays important aspects of their identity that define them. This term inspires artistic liberty that can be internalized differently depending on the viewers experiences. Lastly, the word means exploration by finding new ways to express oneself.
