This piece was created at Aquatic Park Cove, along the shore of San Francisco Bay. My aim was to evoke a sense of hope and reverie as the central figure gazes into the horizon, a classic symbol of embarking on a fresh beginning. The lone subject, isolated and solitary in her journey towards a brighter future, is complemented by a simple background and colour palette. Placing her head within the only opening in the sea wall, I intended to convey her perspective of peering through the cracks in any systemic barriers that may impede her progress, eagerly anticipating the opportunities that lie ahead.
