This is an English acoustic guitar cover of Shoujo Rei by MikitoP. Despite the original piece being Japanese and us only understanding and speaking English, my partner and myself were both moved by its lyrics and message through reading translations. We wanted to express its story in a way that's both reminiscent to the original, while also being unique in its own way. We aimed to achieve this by adopting the lyrics from Oktavia's (Youtuber) English interpretation of the lyrics, and utilizing both the experimental percussive style of guitar and visual lighting changes to make a symbolic impact. For us, this piece visualizes language barriers, and how language alone can be an obstacle for one to experience another's creativity.

Creativity is a word that has a lot of meanings. To me, it is freedom of expression. It's a freedom that encourages you to use your knowledge, voice, and actions to express and represent yourself in a way you love.
