Violin Concerto No.3, Op.58 by M. Bruch and J. Brahms

  • When learning Bruch's Violin Concerto, my goal had been to attain the highest level of technical and musical accuracy that I'm capable of. I worked towards achieving this by practicing of 2-3 hours daily and considering my teacher's feedback carefully. I enjoyed watching myself improve throughout the learning process, and I look forward to continuing on improving my skills in musicianship as I tackle new pieces in the future.

    Playing Brahms' Symphony No.2 with the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra was also a greatly rewarding experience. Playing in an orchestra requires one to collaborate with his/her peers, which makes for a fun and bonding experience. There were moments during our performance where I felt that the entire orchestra was truly immersed in the idealistic longing of Brahms' music, and those are some of my most special memories.

  • I started learning violin when I was five years old. I've always appreciated how playing violin returns me to a focused and calm state. Most of all, studying classical music is meaningful to me because it invokes a sense of idealism that, especially in today's modern world, is rare and inspiring.
