Untouchable

  • When writing this piece, I wanted to dive into the minds of one of my characters. Ever since I was young, I've always enjoyed creating stories about various types of people and this character named Vincent Kree was one of them. When he was younger, he had to deal with the hardship of losing his parents and was forced to take on the parental role for his younger sister. To this day, he blames himself for the death of his parents and deals with extreme self-hatred.

As he grew older, Vincent came to find that almost everyone around him sees him as a disgusting monster just because of his thinner frame and grunge appearance. Even though he's miserable in his skin, all he hopes is to be a figure his sister can look up to.

In this short passage, I wrote about his struggles with his appearance and mental health. His unhealthy habits can be relatable to some people which is something I've always tried to accomplish when writing.

  • Exploring and expressing creativity impacts my life by shedding light onto emotions I or others may feel. I use creativity to illustrate both writing and art to show world-wide issues such as mental health issues and world issues. Expressing creativity impacts my life by showing everyone struggles.
