Turning the Tide

Ever since I was a child, I've always been drawn to what nature has to offer, especially the unpredictable, crashing tides of the ocean. In my fiction piece, I wanted to express how life is constantly changing, just like the waters. I wrote this story about grief and suffering, as well as learning to grown and move on with our lives. It serves as a reminder to readers that whatever is current in your lives, may not happen again in the future—for better or for worse. In this case, the sorrows that we weep today can be a moment in time to look back when things start to clear. Life always seems to catch us off guard when we least expect it, and that's when perseverance is most important. That extra week, day, or hour that you are still on Earth may be the defining moment where the sun starts to rise on the other side.

A world without creativity lacks drive, passion, and purpose. To me, expressing and exploring my ideas into a creative outlet, (in this case, writing) helps build my character and the values I stand for.
