• Artist Statement

  My artwork is a charcoal drawing of Martin Luther King Jr. I wanted to honor him by drawing a portrait of him. I was inspired by the amazing work he has done for the P.O.C. community. This was my first time using this medium and it was challenging because it was hard to control and it was messy. But I was surprised at how realistic it turned out using the blending stick and vine charcoal.
