Temple Snow

This piece captures a memory from my year spent abroad in Kyoto, Japan. On one of the only snow days we got, my mom took us to a temple on a mountain, and as I walked around, my eyes opened to a breathtaking, delicate, and natural wonder for the first time.
Layering the snow on top of the ground, trees, and lanterns, as well using distinguishable strokes, allowed me to capture the magical, untouchable air, while preserving its simplicity.

For me, creativity and art helps me center myself. Life can be hectic, and personally, I am always surrounded people. My world sometimes can seem to center around other people, but art is something I can do alone, for myself, and in a way about myself.
