• Artist Statement

  Two of my hobbies are photography and hiking. I have been lucky to do both in the beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore in which this photograph was taken. It took some planning, I had already picked out a spot but wanted to catch the moment during the golden hour. On a late fall evening after a rain, after hiking for about half an hour, events aligned and I caught the moment. It took a half dozen photos, but I had underexposed many of them, but finally, I found the one and tweaked it a little to better highlight the shadows.

• Creative Statement

  My creativity allows me to escape reality, if only for a minute, and tell stories about the world around me through poetry or photos. Through art, I can connect to other likeminded artists and spread ideas.
