During the height of Covid, I found myself at the piano often but wanted to explore music deeper than just playing an instrument. I imagined songs in their full form rather than just playing the singular sound of one instrument; I wanted to play the whole symphony. I created a small home studio and started teaching myself how to produce music. I soon realized how difficult it was and this excited me. It was like playing a new game for the first time. There were endless aspects of music that I had never realized existed. My first attempts were amateur but I didn't let this discourage me. As I kept producing new songs and ideas, I gained experience and touch. This song, Soundtrack, was the first song I produced that I felt proud of. In 127 tracks, I fused orchestral elements, synth-pop music (my favorite), and hip-hop to create this ethereal sound that tells the story of a character moving steadily on a prescribed path that eventually accelerates into chaos. An epic battle ensues which finally gets resolved in the end. If you listen closely, you might be able to hear their heart beating in the end from the adrenaline. Intricate melodies to the lyrics, everything was done by me in one night. It wasn't a rushed project, but more of a burst of creative motivation.

Growing up in a predominately white community, I was among the most ethnically diverse people through eighth grade. Creating music, especially with other artists, gives me a strong sense of community and helps me battle my anxiety. Whenever I have free time, I spend it writing and producing music.
