Serenity Rocks

  • Title: Serenity Rocks

    Medium: Digital Photography

My photo is a representation of serenity, the way the fog rests on the beach and the simplicity of just 2 rocks in the foreground makes it feel so peaceful. In addition to that, the smoothness of interaction between the sand and water further adds to the serenity I feel every time I look at this photograph. Finally, the duet of the rocks feels like a separating friendship, where the smaller rock is being lost at sea and the bigger rock is trying to save it through its last path; the small strip of water it has left connecting them.

This photo was taken on a hike at Kehoe Beach near Point Reyes, it was just after sunset when I saw the water perfectly balancing with the sand, and I snapped the shot. Though, when I took this photo, I originally ignored it and just skimmed right passed it, but, a little bit later, I was able to look at it in a new light. I saw how beautifully pink the sky was and the duet of the rocks. So I decided to focus on this photo and I think it turned out beautifully.

  • I believe I can use creativity as an outlet for freedom. When I feel stuck in the loop of school or am staying inside all day, taking pictures is also an excellent way for me to express myself through my own projects, even if they are shown to no one.
