Sculpture Man

Amelia T.

  • This photo was made on an overcast day in downtown San Francisco. I saw this man crouching down holding his knee and immediately saw the resemblance of the dramatic nature of his pose to the essence of the sculpture. I ran to a spot hoping the man would continue his pose as I moved to a spot facing directly in front of the sculpture. I underexposed the image to dig out the contrast of the sky and bright colors to the dark and shady tones of the man and the sculpture, ultimately creating a dramatic effect on the essence of the photo.

  • Being able to express my creativity through photography has allowed me to explore my potential as an artist and amplify aspects of my life that mean a lot to me. I've really enjoyed preserving events and moments that have great significance and meaning to my perspective as an artist.
