Scream, The Water, The Fire

I have included poems that indirectly communicate my own emotions about various things in my life. I initially began writing them with the sole purpose of making sense of what I was feeling. I saw the poetry as a tool to relieve my own stress - to avoid keeping things bottled up, I could always direct my energy into my notebook. But I just kept writing them, soon finding myself creating poems about a range of my own struggles and emotions; All the while growing more and more interested in perfecting my word choice, phrasing, use of symbolism, etc. I still use my writing as a tool like before, but my interest in poetry has grown to more than that. Writing poems, I find, is a great way for someone to unload any lingering anxiety, worry, or confusion about some way they may be feeling; On top of that, I often learn more about myself and why I feel the way I do.

I choose to write poetry to help make sense of what I am feeling. I find that crafting poems related to any struggles I have allows me to use my emotions for creative purposes, but also to relieve my own stress about the way I feel and sort it all out.
