Rebirth of Hope and Wonder

  • Title: Rebirth of Hope and Wonder Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

In this piece I want to convey how the world seems like it is dying (mostly because of climate change, but for other reasons too), how we have buried the "Hope" and "Wonder" we should have for life, yet they have managed to come back and be "reborn". The meaning of these words may change slightly from person to person, but those to things will exists as long as one person believes in them. In the illustration I have shown a dying landscape, with two tombstones at the foreground one with 'Hope' engraved on it and the other with 'Wonder'. That is to represent their "death" but because someone somewhere still believes in them, they have come back. Their rebirth is shown by a small plot of green grass and flowers sprouting around the tombstones. The engraved words are also not visible from all angles, to represent how not every one will believe in these things, that you have to view thing in a certain way to believe.

  • Expressing and exploring my creativity through my art largely impacts my life, because it is the easiest way for me to be myself, as well as improving my mental health. Since art can be interpreted in many ways it may also help others, and I find that really important, and love that about it.
