• Artist Statement

  My photograph is called "Reaching Out for a Better America". This photograph shows an American reaching out to an American flag which symbolizes that a common man is seeking a better America free of racism, discrimination, and bias. I wanted to show an American flag hoisted on a fence to depict the hurdles we have and how America is almost divided in some ways. The fence also illustrates a division between the current times he lives in and what he wants America to be.

• Creative Statement

  In a world full of technology and social media, keeping time aside to work with colors, mediums or different creative tools helps my mind calm down, focus well, and think creatively. It is a great way to express ideas or communicate in a way we usually can’t talk or be straightforward about.
