Prismatic Perspective

As an amateur photographer with little actual understanding of photographical principles, my photo taking process is largely intuitive. I normally look for an interesting perspective to take a picture of an object from, and then play around with exposure, lighting, and focus. In this case, I chose to take a photo of magnetic triangle toys from a closer perspective, and focus on the center of the shapes instead of the stack of triangles as a whole. I particularly enjoyed playing with how the light fell on the triangles, and how this affected the vibrancy of the colors in the photo. In general, I enjoy taking photos of ordinary objects and showing them from a new perspective to send a message about the beauty of ordinary life, which I did in this photo by choosing to focus on children's toys.

Finding creative ways to express my feelings, inner thoughts, and understandings of the world has always been a crucial part of my identity and contributions to my community. To me, art is not only a way to share who I am, but also a way for me to fight against injustice I see in the world.
