Possible

Woman. Literally speaking, a woman is just a grown up lady, but we are so much more than that. In all of history, women have been looked down upon. "Too fragile." "Just birth-givers." "Husband's slave." Lies. All lies. In the more recent centuries, women have gained more rights and respect, may it be in voting, having a job, or being able to speak at a conference. We are more than capable. But even then, even with all the fabulous accomplishments and inventions women have created, we are still not provided with 100% equality. Women are continuously paid less than men, even when women do more. Women must pay more for the products that simply keep them sanitary, and these products are entirely unaffordable for many. The list only continues, but we can put an end to that list and remove its presence. Women have unstoppable capabilities -- capabilities to better the world in an extraordinarily significant manner. In my piece of writing, "Possible," I portrayed signs of hope that were destroyed by brutal realities that the idea of women equal to men was rubbish. But what if it wasn't rubbish? Inequality of rights and respect has played a big role in our history. We may not even be where we are today if even one event in history was altered. We have come a long way. Women are finally being accepted not as filthy housewives but as brilliant people who have the power to change the world. We still have a long way to go before women have reached full equality and respect. But it is not impossible.

Exploring and expressing creativity through the power of writing has been an impactful way for me to express what I’m passionate about, a place where people hear me. A world where all stories are heard is the world of creative writing, where I’ve been able to communicate my thoughts freely.
