Peace in Me

For this art piece I used watercolor to create a colorful mountain and trees landscape. This was originally an art assignment I took hours completing. Artistically my preferred media is watercolor, it’s what I feel most confident with. I believe watercolor is a sensitive media, you have to know what you’re doing before you do it and I feel that’s a true reflection of this piece. Here I created snow on mountains and trees receding for the first time, each stroke was placed diligently some places and harshly the next, being careful to avoid the spots I had to keep white, and each stroke got smaller as I imagined what was further from me. When I finished this piece I was satisfied, at peace even and proud of how much I improved from prior works. I digress and say I do believe the piece is not perfect; it’s almost impossible to find not one mistake in anything I see; however I hope when anyone looks at this, they see progress and hope as well as the inspiration I see from being able to create growth.

I’ve loved art since I was little; I’ve always wanted to create something and then more. It was always the next step for me. Art allows me to express the contents of my mind I can’t speak, the moments in my mind that I should tell. Through all my struggles Art has been there for me in a way I am Art.
