My ceramics pieces are focused on the flow and intricate forms that coincide with the embodiment of asymmetry. My pieces are focused on embracing the small imperfections that we ought to appreciate. Forms are deeply elaborated and abstracted while keeping it simple and clean. This also includes abstract glazing, with many variations of colors with multiple styles of layering and applying the glaze. The ideals of “Wabi Sabi”, is the idea that we must embrace the beauty of imperfection, impermanent, and the rustic and melancholy feelings attributed to the pieces. It represents flow and slightly broken or altered details. Forms are more beautiful bearing marks of individuality and age. We must appreciate cracks, deformations, and must acquire the imperfect nature of ceramic pieces with multiple tones of glazes and patterns.
