One of Many Leaves

I took this photo during Thanksgiving break, in Camino California, when colorful leaves were falling in the background. I thought it was so beautiful how all the different colored leaves made the unique background and added saturation to the photo. The reason I titled this photo “One of Many Leaves" is because my mom is a very important and special person in my life, and she is one of many mothers in the world. She is my biggest inspiration and role model. Since age 5 she has been the only parent in my life and she has continued to support me throughout my journey in becoming a young women. We all go through hard times but she is the one person who has helped me become a stronger individual and pushed me to try new experiences and take big opportunities, even when times are hard. Most importantly she has taught me life skills and lessons like how to become more flexible, resilient, and have strong determination.
While taking this photo instead of having the subject in the middle, I wanted to use the Rule Of Thirds technique and have her be next to the tree. She was wearing a maroon sweater which fit in perfectly with the fall background. My favorite aspect of this photo is that it was an in action shot, meaning that her smile wasn't forced it was natural and spontaneous. The hardest part of taking this photo was matching to lighting to the subject, and making sure that the photo wasn't overexposed and had a glare. Overall, this is my favorite photo out of the bunch I took because it has meaning, emotions, and is a great memory.
