• Artist Statement

  I took this photograph using slow shutter speed. I took it in a nearby Target parking lot, which I thought would be interesting since it was near a highway and a lot of cards were passing through. I also tried to capture the flashing lights of the traffic lights as they kept changing between green and red. I thought it would be a unique approach to taking a good picture using slow shutter speed. The truck at the stops was completely unintentional as I didn't know it would stop at the light, but I liked how the blurred motion of it gave it an eerie, ghostlike appearance, so I kept it. After taking the picture, I used photoshop to make the photo more vibrant, colorful, and clear.

• Creative Statement

  Taking visually pleasing photographs is a way for me to articulate the beauty I find in everyday sceneries. It helps me express my appreciation for how colors and values in a particular setting come together to form landscapes and artistic views you wouldn't find elsewhere.
