Moon-spotting

Leanne P.

  • Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, my family and I have spent most of our weekends hiking in the hills near our home. Even though we would go on the same short walk, it felt like an adventure. The shadows of the trees were always changing; the squirrels would chase each other around; on the lucky days, the cows would occasionally show up. These trivial details were memories that I continue to value and was able to heal from during the pandemic; it was my remedy.

  • Exploring and expressing my creativity opened my eyes to new perspectives. As a perfectionist, I have always been stubborn in how I viewed the world and hesitant to change. However, through visual art, it helped me to become more flexible and seek out different points of view.
