• Artist Statement

  My digital photography composition, "Me and my Guitar", depicts the emotional as well as spiritual communication and connection between humans and music. While shooting this photograph, I set up a lamp by orienting it so that it created a very prominent shadow, setting a mysterious tone. I did not have access to a tripod, so I solved this by balancing my camera on top of a book placed on top of a chair. Once I achieved the shot I was looking for, I used Adobe Lightroom to alter the color balance slightly, to achieve a more golden hue.

• Creative Statement

  I am always struck by how visual and performing arts are universal languages that have the potential to bring diverse people together to create a better world. Capturing the energy and emotion of music strongly impacts my compositions. Photography and music are beautiful daily creative outlets.
