• Artist Statement

  Originally these were three different images taken on a digital camera, however, using photoshop, I was able to layer them onto each other to create an entirely new piece. Left individually, they felt empty and lacking substance, but combined, they tell a story of perseverance. The sunset is representative of the end of the day—no matter how good or bad a day was, it will always come to an end. It shows the passage of time and how soon people will move on from their life—it will be unavoidable. You can't rely on the good moments lasting forever.

• Creative Statement

  During the digital age, the amount of human connection is gradually dwindling. Photography is a medium that allows me to communicate emotion and relatability through a lens that can reach anybody, no matter their background, character, or stereotype.
