Killdeer

Lupita S.

  • As the day came to a close, this killdeer caught my attention. As it was walking along the lake shore, there didn’t seem to be many opportunities for a good photo. Eventually it passed through a puddle surrounded by ice and snow. I slowly got down low to get to it’s eye level, and waited for it to pass just right where the rock on the left could balance the photo out. Shooting at 125th of a second isn’t the easiest without a tripod, but I got the shot.

  • Photography has helped me to see the world differently, by noting that when I take a photograph I had to be there at the right place and time. Since I started photography, I am also more inclined to go outside and keep a watchful eye.
