"iPod," created on canvas in late 2022, is a homage to what entertained my siblings and me growing up. Clunky, fat old technology became portals to worlds of creativity and ideas growing up. The bland white music boxes were filled with unlimited possibilities for us. Growing up, that sense of wonder was lost under anxiety, homework, and stress. The constant motion of high school and the transition to adulthood often causes kids to yearn for a simpler time. This painting was created using acrylic paint on a background of yellow and pink spray paint to become a doorway to childhood. The artwork, 16in by 20in, is my attempt as an artist to relate and represent a time most members of my generation can escape to when everything around us looks so bleak.

Exploring my creativity is a form of communication. My ideas and emotions are most successfully understood and translated through my art and creativity. My exploration has led me through experimentation in mediums, styles, and concepts that has allowed my artistic passion to grow.
