• Artist Statement

  As a self taught pianist, my artistic process many times involves the intake of material that will serve as inspiration for my creative output. I have studied many covers, arrangements, and renditions of the Interstellar main theme over my years playing the piano, from the most basic melody to beautiful arpeggiated covers. The beginning of my performance took inspiration from Dorian Marko's cover of Interstellar, that recently went viral on TikTok. To me, the most striking feature of his cover was the arpeggiation of each chord into 24 distinct key presses, a technique that, when combined with the right amount of reverb, creates a fascinating sound. After playing a simpler version of the iconic melody, I wrapped up the performance with some more expansive chord runs and some fast arpeggios.

• Creative Statement

  Exploring and expressing creativity impacts every aspect of my life. I feel that as an individual with a lot of creative outlets, it is my obligation to work hard to achieve my full potential in all the areas that I have an aptitude for.
