My artwork is a hand embroidery piece of one of my favorite cartoon characters Garfield. I used 6 string thread, fabric, a hoop, and a needle to make this artwork. First I traced my picture onto the fabric, then I used back stitch to outline the drawing. To fill in the drawing I used satin stitch. This was my first time exploring this new material. I learned through my process that hand embroidery takes a lot of time and patience. But I really liked it and it is very relaxing. Since making this piece I have explored with hand embroidery more in fashion like decorating my shoes and clothes.

Exploring my creativity through hand embroidery makes me feel happy because it's something that I enjoy. I also find it therapeutic and fun.
