Foot Print

I woke up one morning on a trip to the mountains, and it was snowing. I was very excited because I had not seen snow in a long time, and I stepped outside to look in awe at my surroundings. I happened to notice my footprint in the snow. This photograph captures a fleeting moment of excitement, and I think it also represents the human quality of having the courage to explore and embrace nature.
A boyish teenager in his hoodie and messy hair, wearing a prayer shawl, holding it ever so delicately; just enough to keep it from sliding off his shoulders but not too aggressively. He stares me dead in the eyes. I adore the contrast. I adore the patterns in his Tallit and the patters of the mural and crosswalk behind him. I love this photos because it captures youthfulness, protest, and the diverse place I grew up in.

I take photographs because I am curious about less obvious things in nature, and I want to record them as I perceive them at a specific moment in time. Photography impacts my life by motivating me to explore the beautiful subtleties of the world that deserve to be acknowledged.
