Fantaisie Impromptu by Chopin

I am playing the piano piece "Fantaisie-Impromptu" by Chopin. While a piano solo, the many layers to each hand lead to the piece sounding like multiple people are playing. I first saw this piece on a ""Top 10 Most Difficult Piano Pieces"" video on YouTube, and I liked this song in particular more than any of the other pieces in the video. I felt the piece sounded almost like a film score, imagining it as background music for a science fiction movie like Star Wars or Interstellar. The music makes you feel like you are going to experience some grand event.
I learned this piece primarily by watching YouTube videos of people playing the song on 0.25 speed — the piece was simply too fast to pick out discernible notes without first slowing it down tremendously. I used sheet music as a fallback if I couldn't understand any given section, and from there I just gradually paced the song up to reach the final tempo.

Being creative in performing music makes me trust my intuition, as what sounds good to your ear is good music. Music is unique, as all my instruction is through playing. Even music theory is learned by the act of making music. My creativity gives me confidence in my choices and tastes.
