Art is a language, it's my love language, my expression and my thoughts. My name is Maria Romero Godoy and I am a bicultural artist that loves the form of art as an expression. I create art not for myself but for the joy of seeing people see my art. Spanish is my first language and I learned English when I came to America at age 5. Language has been hard for me ever since I was little, when I was living from country to country. I used art to speak to people. Communication is hard but drawing is easy. Art can be used as a form of communication with the art visually explaining an idea or a thought. Being from Mexico means that most of my family can't communicate with me in English. I used art as a way to communicate to them, to get together with them, and to bring happiness to me.
My art is communicating different human qualities and emotions. Every character I make or draw all have different backgrounds. From the physical qualities humans have to the inner emotional qualities that make every human individual.

Exploring myself creatively with art helps me with my self-expression. I express my emotions and thoughts with my work. My goal is to put out something into the world that no one has seen before. This has impacted the way I process my emotions.
