• Artist Statement

  My artwork is of a chicken in a hazy background. I'm constantly learning and experimenting with my newest medium, watercolor. In this particular work, I, along with a classmate, all made our own renditions of a chicken. This process opened things in my eyes to the world of art, in that we went in severely different, but equally beautiful directions, with the same reference, and the same medium. The small details that bled into this painting made it truly beautiful for me, from the pattern work resulting from my background in traditional Chinese painting to the color choices in the hazy background.

• Creative Statement

  From the beauty I personally see in the world, I draw happiness and a vague feeling of love for my world in spite of any circumstances I may be going through. To be able to explore that in a physical sense, or express something similar to the way I see the world to share with others, is amazing.
