I created this piece using airdry clay and acrylic paint. I sculpted mushrooms then added sphagnum moss to add a 3D ‘decomposing’ effect. I also added glossy finish to some of the fungi to make them appear slimy. The piece is sealed with a matte varnish.

When I feel lost I regularly confide in creation. Often this means reverting back to the root of creativity: nature. I love to depict foliage, mushrooms and other aspects of the natural world in my pieces. I find life comforting when I’m able to express my connection with our beautiful planet.
