• Artist Statement

  When I think of a park, I expect it to be bustling with activity and life. Therefore, I was surprised when I got to this park on a relatively warm summer afternoon to find it completely deserted other than this one bike that was locked up. I tried to frame the photo by using the trees to draw the viewer’s eye toward the center of the image and thus the bike. After taking a few shots from various angles and with various settings, I used Lightroom to help make the bike stand out a bit more and make the photo black and white.

• Creative Statement

  Exploring and expressing my creativity helps me tell a story about the things I care about while also challenging myself. For me, photography is a game. I’m always trying to manipulate angles and light to get the best shot and that’s something that is really fulfilling for me.
