APRIL 2.0

Jacob B.

  • For my creative submission, I decided to submit a script called "APRIL 2.0." I was the sole writer for this screenplay and drafted it over several weeks. I made around five different edits and took advice from my teachers and peers to perfect it to the best of my ability. The general process of creating this script started off with me storyboarding the ideas. I wrote down what I wanted the plot to look like and I decided on personality traits for each character. Then I went into Fade In and started writing drafts. I wanted to go outside my comfort zone with this project and create a sci-fi narrative. Writing screenplays allows for so much creative freedom and hopefully, someday I can get access to equipment that will let me make stories like “APRIL 2.0” into short films.future and see how my poetry writing has changed and grown.

  • From a young age, I’ve loved expressing seemingly indescribable feelings in a physical medium. For me, when life becomes hard to balance, it’s also through writing that I’ve been able to change the scope of which I see reality, often allowing me to cope creatively and process my life experiences.
