• Artist Statement

  During my childhood, I viewed Angel Island as a "getaway" and place of recreation. It was not until I studied U.S. History that I began to understand Angel Island's darker past. I feel it is important to spread awareness about the inequities that took place there, so that we avoid similar instances of discrimination in the future.

• Creative Statement

  When I am behind a camera, I have the confidence to explore and express my thoughts. Film is a great outlet for me.
