The song, Angel, is written by Sarah McLachlan. I initially worked on it with my voice teacher after my mom had suggested it, since our family loves listening to McLachlan. I really enjoyed singing it and wanted to learn the piano part, so I worked with my piano teacher to figure out a simple chord progression that would allow me to easily sing and keep tune.

Being able to sing and play piano serves as an outlet from studying. At any point where I’m feeling overwhelmed, mentally tired, or am just wanting to sing, I’ll sit down and figure out the chord progression to a song I like. It’s very therapeutic.
