Album Design

Olivia G.

  • This artwork was made based of my favorite album, Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers. I made three different album covers and my submitted one was my final addition. I studied the albums music, the meanings behind the music, the art and type trends of the year it was made, and the emotions the album brings forth. My final cover design, to me, encapsulates the softness of the album, through the light shades of pinks, and the depth of the album, with the skeletons. The album is raw, vulnerable and in part, a little spooky. Skeletons represent those aspects. There are two skeletons to depict how the album makes me, and many others, feel less isolated and alienated in our feelings. One skeleton is approaching the other, almost like it is asking it to dance, portraying the albums ability to create this emotional visibility.

  • Exploring and expressing my creativity in my digital art class has allowed me to create projects that portray my thoughts and feelings. I’ve been able to explore music I love and rework it into physical art that allows me an outlet to visualize how I see the music in my head.
