Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Sonam M.

  • I made this drawing of mountainous scenery during art class at school. My teacher told us that we were going to be working with pastels and I was nervous because I had never drawn anything with pastels before. I had thought that it would be like drawing with crayons, but they ended up being slightly easier to use! I had a lot of fun making this drawing because not only was it a very relaxing process, but I was also able to learn how to blend colors without smudging them with my fingers and how to pick the right color to make a drawing look more realistic. I am proud of this piece because it turned out better than I expected, especially considering that it was my first time using pastels!

  • Creativity can be therapeutic for a lot of people because it helps them relax and overcome challenges. In other words, creativity serves as an outlet for people and their emotions, which is similar to how I write and make art to either unwind after a long day or to just have fun.
