Agony

I drew this while I was sitting inside the 54 bus, on the way back to school from working at a garden on Castlemont Farms. I later on messed with the colors. It was created using a variety of mediums such as water-based markers, ink, and a blue ballpoint pen. The expression on his face gives me a sense of pain, he's bruised by so many changes in his life that he's ultimately gotten used to. But the lighter colors bring a sense of optimism, it won't always feel like you're in agony. Changes in our lives can either bring a sense of happiness or pain, but later on you get to realize that it won't always feel horrible. I've been through so much in my life, but my creativity has helped me get through my pain. The people that I once cared for, won't always stick by my side, but after going through changes in my life. I found the ones that care for me like I care for them.
It's okay to not finish big pieces, the stress of finishing an art piece is one that not many people know about. The creativity of an artist flows outside of the big projects. You don't need to create a mural or a big painting to consider yourself an artist. Sometimes, artists like me find comfort in drawing on the margins of our English assignments. You don't need to finish that 20 by 28 painting today. Creativity comes and goes, and when it goes, it will live on forever.

To have the capability to express myself creatively, is the greatest impact for me. The joy of expressing the feelings that I cannot convey within words is more thoughtful than any other way.
