A Quiet Street

Audrey B.

  • I find a lot of peace with the winter season and any scenes affiliated with it. This time of the year is a time of reflection for me and it brings a lot of nostalgia of past winters and what they brought me and how that effected me and my choices in the next year. I was making what my ceramics teacher calls a “choice project” where anyone in the class can create anything they want aside from the assignments. With the winter break coming up I decided to emulate a place I’ve been before on the side of a clay mug but in a cartoonish glaze painting of trees in the snow on the outside and a dark sparkly glaze on the inside. I also included an indented curly slanted c shaped handle on the side. Although not realistic this piece brings a reminder of the thoughts and peace shared with this location.

  • Exploring and expressing my own creativity through art impacts my life greatly because it allows me to relieve my stress from really hard days at school or at home. I like to use my creativity to create places or people that I wish I could be or surrounded by through many mediums.
